[00:00:06] See? You dampened too Huh? You're not feeling it Oh no, I'm good Okay I guess you're carrying it today then No, you've got the big story I mean, I don't know that it's a big story It's colorful This be the verse They fuck you up, your mom and dad They may not mean to, but they do They fill you with the faults they had And add some extra just for you

[00:00:34] But they were fucked up in their turn By fools in old style hats and coats Who half the time were soppy stern And half at one another's throats Man hands on misery to man It deepens like a coastal shelf Get out as early as you can And don't have any kids yourself Philip Larkin Thank you for the reality check, Philip So if you think your parents screwed you up They did

[00:01:03] And I'm going to start the podcast with that one I think so too And you want to know what's wrong with us? There it be There it is Yeah, you ready? Aye, aye sir I mean, what else can we do? Push the damn button I guess we push the damn button

[00:01:50] Greetings This is the Long in the Boot podcast The podcast coming to you from the heel of the boot Of southwest Louisiana I am your host, G Long Sitting across the way as always is Deb As always How you doing, Deb? I'm doing Well, good It's a gray day It is a gray day I'm kind of faking it But I'm doing Oh yeah It's a little wet here in the heel of the boot And cold I can handle the wet Yeah But not the cold Hey, if you'd like to call and reach the Long in the Boot podcast Jabber Jabber

[00:02:20] 337-502-9011 Email us at longintheboot at gmail.com And the website is longintheboot.com for all your past podcast needs And there are quite a bit there There's quite a few Quite a few We're going on, it'll be five years in July Wow Or we'll be starting our fifth year in July Starting your fifth year Yeah Somewhere else Because we started the year of the pandemic We Closer to This is a plague podcast We started during the plague

[00:02:50] We started during the plague You know why? Because we had some time Had some time and some free money And some government dollars No, no They worked for us That wasn't free That was our money That was our money They just were returning it to us As opposed to the Ukraine Would have been simpler that year If they just told people Look, you don't have to file your taxes Just don't do that Yeah No, it was better to just get a check It was It was nice Yeah, because you see it That it's in hand And you got it Well, what's scary though Is they just deposited it

[00:03:20] You know, in our account Yeah That was probably the scarier thing That's the control they have Yes, that's exactly right Oh, good times Good times Good times They were Not good times everywhere though Back then or now? Now All the times in between There's a lot of weird stuff going on Of course There is The weirdest is the fires Well, I don't know that that's weird That is Well, it's weird because It's nature You're finding out all kinds of stuff now Well, they reveal the graft and corruption The lack of maintenance I would Yes

[00:03:49] That is a big, big problem And politics Yeah Those two things play a huge role In what is happening in California First of all A lot of the A lot of the Fire hydrants Are just dry They go hook up And then nothing They got nothing And they have a water czar Yes Who's supposed to be in charge Of husbanding the resources Yes In California Water Her name is Janice Quinones Water husbandry And she makes a paltry

[00:04:18] $750,000 a year Didn't you tell me That was like double Her previous Yeah, the previous person Who was there last year Made half that Wow So for doubling their money What did they get As far as qualifications Well, they got a former vice president Of Pacific Gas and Electric And if you'll recall It was them That caused the Second largest wildfire In California The gas and electric The Dixie fire When the wires

[00:04:47] Because of the heat Popped And started causing fires Yes And so she was She was there And then she moves over To become water czar Oh wait So she was in charge When that happened At that company Well, she was An executive vice president Oh, well That's Executive VP Is pretty high up The Pacific Gas and Electric Ended up filing bankruptcy And lost $13.5 billion Well, as many places Are going to file bankruptcy Here soon Many insurance companies I would predict And it filed for bankruptcy

[00:05:16] In 2018 And came out in 2020 The weird thing To me, though Is Not only that But it was She's the one That's been in charge Of the shutdown And emptying Of the reservoir Near Pacific Palisades Well, I thought They were blaming Newsom Nope, nope, nope They needed to repair something But they waited until The brush fire season Because, of course You know That's when you want to do that Yeah, we need to drain Our reservoir During brush fire season Sure And normally

[00:05:46] The reservoir The Santa Ynez reservoir Holds 117 million gallons But it was taken offline To repair a tear In its cover So they chose that time To do maintenance So they were doing maintenance That exposed the water And potentially impacted Its drinkability So The shutdown Was not publicly reported Until last Friday Oh So people had no idea That it was actually going on And would it have Most of the people say

[00:06:15] It wouldn't have helped them Put out the fires completely But it certainly Would have been helpful When they hooked up To water Fire hydrants That were dry Were completely dry And the really weird thing Is Listening to this It's a Well-connected Former L.A. firefighter Who was a senior officer Who said That lack of water Was already a common problem Exacerbated by The Department of Water Failing to fix Cut-off fire hydrants

[00:06:45] Oh Prior to Yearly The fire department Goes out and checks Every hydrant For my entire career We would do this Once a year And then send in Our report To the hydrant unit With all the problems We encountered And then maintenance We began to notice That year after year The exact same hydrants Had the same problems Oh, they never They just weren't fixing them Yeah One example that comes to mind Were the hydrants Near Palisades High School Oh, damn They were dry Most of the times We checked them DWP knew they had problems And it would take months

[00:07:15] To fix them It's a well-known problem Last year The yearly fire hydrant checks Were given back to DWP Which is the big The big guys Because the firefighters Were too busy Putting out brush fires To deal with Checking the hydrants That they didn't fix In the first place And so People are asking To see the record Of the fire hydrant checks Oh, yeah And they're not releasing them Okay, well There'll be plenty of time To find the blame All around

[00:07:45] Because it sounds like And then the budget cuts Of course Which is There were multiple situations here Yeah $50 million budget cuts Again Things that we're upset With politicians for And that's at the local level You know State and local level They're not federal level Yeah Yeah And then you've got The general manager Former general manager Of DWP Who is currently In federal prison For bribery Oh, damn So

[00:08:14] This has been a problem Just a snowball of hell Here in the And it was It was coming It was coming And then, of course The final part of the story Is they go ahead And point out That they found a man Who was actually Trying to start a fire Yes I saw Saw that with his With his blowtorch Well, you know Just gonna throw in Sure Why not Go ahead Nature's not doing A good enough job Maybe he's trying To do a back burn Oh, dear lord Well, you know The same things went on here How many people Did they pick up For actually, you know

[00:08:43] Throwing things Out their window On fire During our fires Yeah Exactly So even on a Small scale here You just Humankind What the hell Yeah There's I've got other Weird little stories Yeah, I know I don't want to talk About the fires Well, I don't want To talk about the fires I do want to do An update On our dildo story Oh Oh, that sounds More interesting You know It's not that interesting It's not necessarily An update to the actual Dildo story in Texas Where, again

[00:09:12] No more than six No more than six Yes, you told us But I didn't know That there's actually A A museum A maker Of a line of Vibrators called WeVibe WeVibe And that word's Going to come up again Later in the show Vibe Is there a dildo museum In the world? There has to be There has to be Okay, you talk about I bet there's a museum In dildo Okay Which is in Nova Scotia You do that I'm going to I'm going to Do my Google And see if there's a museum Anyway, the makers Of WeVibe Is a line of Vibrators that are

[00:09:42] Paired with an app For remote controlled use Well, the makers Of WeVibe Have reached a $3.75 million Class action settlement With users Following allegations That the company Was collecting data On how and when The toy was used Wait, how are they Getting data? I like how they Call it a toy I did I thought it was A marital aid No, wait I thought it was A massager Well, the fun thing Is this thing Can be controlled From a smartphone So somebody Could be like Elsewhere And you could Have it

[00:10:11] I wouldn't say You could be Wearing it And it allows The user With his phone Or her phone I was going to say Wait a minute To vary rhythms Patterns and settings So somebody else Can control your Vibrator In utro Or wherever You've got it Be advised This device Is briefly Not safe For work Can you operate Heavy machinery? I don't know So Anyway But the problem is Was the company

[00:10:41] Altering the rhythm And such on people Or just No, they were Just gathering The data Well, that's for Research Oh, I'm sure They're also worried That somebody Could hack it Which I thought Was hilarious Well, then So somebody else A stranger Could be Messing with your rhythm What would be funny Is, of course If a bunch of people All had them on At the same time And you could Just send out A code And just drop Them right where They stand That would be Hilarious Well, yeah Once you Collected enough data And could see Where they were Concentrated Oh, I'd like to See

[00:11:11] WeVibes data The lawsuit Alleges that Customers Customers Did not know this But it was collecting Information about How often What settings And other Information Is to make Their product Better Yes The lawyers For the anonymous Plaintiffs Anonymous Plaintiffs Contend that the App incredibly Collected users Email addresses Allowing the Company to link The users Information to Specific customer Accounts So they knew Who was

[00:11:41] Oh, my God There really is No privacy The customers Email addresses And usage Data were Then transmitted To the Company's Canadian Servers When a WeVibe Was remotely Linked to a Partner The connection Was described As secure But some Information Was also Routed through WeConnect And collected You know I saw a Black Mirror Episode that Was very Similar to This I did So the Company Agree So they Got the Idea from There The company Agree To settle So if You're one Of the People Out there Who spent

[00:12:10] $199 For this Thing Oh, you Know Those are Expensive You can Collect up To $10,000 However Wow, you Got to reveal Your name Yes And the Company Estimates That in Fact most People will Get around 40 bucks Because the Lawyers Yeah Oh dear Lord So And because A lot of People just Simply won't Well no Because they're They're embarrassed Which is kind Of strange To me In 2025 We have No privacy We know That This generation Does not So then Are they Mostly boomers

[00:12:40] That owned It? We don't It doesn't Say Yeah You know But you know What this is Like too The people Not getting The money It's like The old days When they used To do that Trick Where they Get people To buy Something Through the Mail And But the Company Name Would be Something Really disgusting So gross That you That name Yeah Because you Don't want Analism On your Right On your Package Okay So here Real quick

[00:13:11] Museums Dildo museums New York Barcelona Los Angeles San Francisco Maybe Maybe not Yeah Los Angeles It's always Amsterdam Reykjavik Miami Beach Wow Prague Prague Prague Oh Prague That's the Sex Sex Machines Museum In Prague Oh that would Be interesting Amsterdam Another one Erotic Museum Antique Vibrator Museum Is in San Francisco And Museum

[00:13:41] Erotica In Copenhagen Apparently I would like To encourage Everyone to Actually get on Google And look up Some of the Old Old Ancient Vibrators The originals Which were Designed to Cure women Of something Called Hysteria Hysteria Which Apparently Worked quite Well And And you Could also And my Favorite Was Reading a Doctor's Description From the 1920s Where he Had the Machine But he Said she Wasn't Responding Well to

[00:14:10] The machine But she Did respond Well to Digital Manipulation I'm not Going to Tell you What that Is You figured Out Did he Have a Nurse's Aid Or did He I think It was Him He said He did It He did Oh he Digitally Manipulated Yes Okay Oh darn You know What this Just led Me to Okay How was Your trip To the Doctor Dear It was Wonderful All right All right Enough Enough All right Although There is A vagina Museum In London Of course There is Dedicated To just The vagina Well why

[00:14:40] Not There's a There's a Entire Festival In Japan Dedicated To the Penis So Sure Sure So Gosh Our show Is really Taking a Turn Very Quickly Okay But that's One first Do you Want me To do The history First Or you Want to Do your Vibe Um We can do The past Then the present Yeah Let's Let's do The past Because I Don't have Anything On your

[00:15:10] Topic At all Why would You Okay So it Just started Last Last Podcast Actually We were Talking about The shapes Of lipsticks Right Yes I think That's What brought It up And all Pretty much All women Out there That That Even Delve Into Makeup At all Know That There's This Theory Behind The Shape Of Your Lipstick And What Kind Of Woman You Are Based On That When I Was A kid I

[00:15:53] On She Also Had Parties For Home Interior Well So You Know For Us I Worried About Makeup After The Pandemic And We All Had To Wear Masks And It's Like Oh I'll Bet The Lipstick Sales And They Did They Lost So Much During That Time Period But Surprisingly When I Delved Into This Lipstick Is A Very Political Product And Has A Very Long History For Mankind In General And It's Going To Be One Of Those Things

[00:16:25] You So You Know Lipstick Is One You Know It's Not Always Been A Safe Product Really Why Not Because It's Been Made With Some Atrocious Things But It's Run Through Many Cycles In Our Time Or In Man's Time Historically

[00:16:55] It Of Ur Ancient Ur Ur Yeah Known Like Iraq That's Where Abraham The Abraham Is From Well She Was The First One And They Would Use White Lead

[00:17:24] And Crushed Red Rocks Wow So They Would Have Little Cockle Shells Full Of It Yes Lead White Lead In Brickish Yeah Brickish That's The Color They Would Mix It Usually With Some Kind Of Resin Or Gum Once They They

[00:18:13] Be

[00:18:43] Sheep Sweat Saliva Crocodile Excrement Yeah Crocodile Excrement Come on And Who's Going After The Crocodile Poop Hurry I Need That Red Lipstick For Tonight Reminds Me Of The Flintstones Or Something Yeah Come On Hurry Up Take A Dump I

[00:19:14] The Potential For Deception Of Men And Undermining Class Divides There You Go Class Class So New Laws Prostitutes You Could Be Punished If You Improperly Posted As A Lady In Public By Not Wearing Your Lipstick You Need To Have Your Lip Paint And Makeup On When You Go Out So You Are Easily Identified As The Whore You Are Well Sure But It's A It's A Respected Trade It's One Of The Well But That Was The I Guess I Guess It's The Equivalent I Wonder If

[00:19:43] The The Temple Prostitutes Wore Lipstick Well I Would Think They Would I Would Think So They Had To Be Identified Look If It Was A You You Could Be Put You You Punished If You Didn't Wear It Yeah So You Couldn't Be Mistaken For A Lady Well I'm Curious Though Did You Have To Wear It All The Time Like If You're Prostit I

[00:20:24] Men Men Used It Men Used It For Their Social Standing Wealthy Women Used It But It Did Come At A Price Yeah Iron Or Fuchsia Plants Infused Lip Paint With Deadly Poisons Cool Yes And They Must Have Used Lead To That Romans Used Lead For Oh Yeah I'm Sure They Did I'm Sure You're More

[00:20:54] Likely To Die For Some Other Concoctions They Got Together You Need To People Do A Lot Of Things For Beauty Right Yes You Needed To Be The Palest You Could Be Because If You Were Tan You Less

[00:21:24] Yeah Unless They Called It A Less Washed Existence Well There Was No Cosmopolitan Situation You Didn't Have A City Like Rome Anymore Yeah Where You Could Go Out And Be And Rome When It Who

[00:21:54] Wore Makeup Were Seen To Have Entered A Pact With The Devil In England During That Time And Because You're Altering Your Given Face You're Challenging God And His Workmanship Ah There You Go Ladies Don't You Dare That's Right You Put On Makeup You Are Challenging The Lord The Lord Said You Should Look This Way And You

[00:22:23] Have An Accident And Die God Won't Recognize You When You Get That's True Right I Didn't Give Her Those Red Lips I Tried She Didn't Get Those Pouty Lips From Me Yeah Okay So 1700s England Is Imposing Even Harsher Restrictions On

[00:22:53] Parliament Passed Legislation Anything That Altered A Woman's Appearance Anything Wigs False Teeth High Heeled Shoes Those False Teeth Those Were Grounds For Having Your Marriage Annulled Or Possibly Being Tried As A Witch I I I I Back On That False Teeth Thing I I've Got Some Theories I Don't Think It's Going To Break Up A Marriage That's All I'm Saying We Already Started With The Dildos We're Not Going Back To All That That Of Course

[00:23:23] Again Was A Law To Protect Men But It Did Do One Thing Which Was Save Women's Lives Because They Weren't Being Poisoned By Their Red Lips Prohibition Of Lipstick Also Men That The Rich Women Who Still Wanted To Look Special Tried To Achieve That Look Through Other Means Like Lip Biting They Would Sit For Long Periods Of Time Biting Their Lips Trying To Get That Taking Red Ribbons And Take And

[00:23:53] Rubbing Them Across Their Lips Until Some Of The Red Would Come Off On Their Lips And Stain Them They Would Trade Recipes For Their Own Underground Lip Rouge If You Had Enough Money If You Could Leave England Go To Paris And Get Some Of Ghirlane's Lip Pomade Made Of Grapefruit Butter And Wax Wait Grapefruit Butter Yes What is Grapefruit Butter No Grapefruit Comma Butter Maybe It was A type Of Bog Butter I Don't

[00:24:23] Know Bog Butter Yummy We All Know About That Yeah We Like Our Bog Butter Well So Then Safety Was Still An Issue We Still Had A Common American Recipe Was Crushed Insects Beeswax And Olive Oil But It Went Rancid Very Quickly Like A Couple Of Hours Well There's That One Bug I

[00:24:53] Can't Remember I Can't Remember What

[00:25:24] Being Poisoned By Cosmetics But Well I Was Trying To Think Because The Pure Food And Drug Act Was Passed In 19 Oh God Like 1911 Or Something Because Of Because Of That Book The Jungle By Upton Sinclair Was That 1911 The Book Was Written In 1905 Oh Okay That Far All Right I Didn't Even Think That But The Pure Drug Act Was Passed Under Teddy Roosevelt Oh Okay Well This Was 38 The Food Drug Oh And If You Have An EOC Coming Up Kids That Teddy Roosevelt Remember That

[00:25:55] Progressive Period And Don't Be Listening To Our Podcast Anyway You Shouldn't Be No It's Not For You You You're You're You're Of The Age That's Right Just Saying It Now Stop Stop Trying To Gain Information Of The Past Present And However In Two Weeks I Will Be Giving All Of The Answers For The EOC Test On The Podcast That Is So Not True I Don't Know What's On The Test That Would Be So Unfortunate So Really It Be Hilarious

[00:26:25] Over The Over The History Of Mankind Lipstick Has Been A Supply Surprisingly Political Product Right From Their Black Lipstick And Showing These Anti Cultural Anti You Know Societal Nonconformist That They Are Lipstick Patterns Of Going From Popular To Unpopular Just Shows You How You Know How Worried We Are About Such Things Yeah It's Really Kind Of Crazy I

[00:26:55] Mean That Well First The Elites Trying To Make Sure That They Can Be Identified As Different From Us And It's Harder Than Than It Is I Don't

[00:27:26] You're Aware Of This Deb But There Are A Lot Of Women Now Who Get Injections Just To Make Their Lips Puffier Well I Read This Article About The Chinese Face Readers And And How That Played Or Factored In Because You Can't Ignore The The Depth The Heights Of You Know Construction That We Can Do Now On The Human Body And Especially The Lips And The Lips Too Yes And It's Become More Accessible If You Wanted To Say That Getting Lip Injections Used To For Just The Elite Now No Not

[00:27:55] At All So So They Say That Is Is It D Is It More D Or More A You Are Not Philomena You Can Just Stop That Well If It's D And A I'm Just Trying To Figure Out

[00:28:24] Oh Please You What Do The Japanese Say About Lips Well That Just That That Your Character Is No No Like Give Me A Description And What It Means Oh Um Let's See There's There's One Called Goldilocks

[00:28:54] Lips Okay What Is Emma Stone These Are They're Neither Too Thick Nor Too Thin They're Kind Of Ordinary Medium Size You Have A Standard Pout Okay Um You Have A Balanced Life And You Have A Good Ability To Resolve Tasks Hmm All Right Um Do It's It's Wait I'm Losing My Stuff Because Because The Internets Is Not A Friendly Place Not Always No So The

[00:29:24] I'm Not Going To Go Through All The Things And Such About That Just Like I'm Not Going To Go Through All Of Them For Lipstick Either Although There Are Eight Different Types Of Lipstick Shapes I've Only Seen Like Four But Apparently There Are Eight Different What Yes And The You In The Tube Yes In The Tube And They're Weird Just Google Lipstick Tube Shape And You'll See Because I Don't Want To It's Just A Of Lipstick No Apparently It Is Not There Is Much More

[00:29:54] The Artificially Enhanced Lips That's Where I Was Going To Go Because The Chinese Face Reading Whoa Yeah Whoa And

[00:30:26] The Ones That Are Angled You Have A Marital Aid That You Buy At CVS Yes That One That That's Really Weird And Apparently The Ones You End Up Buying They Say Determine Some Stuff About You About Your Personality So Okay The Standard Smooth Tip Easy Going Peacemaker Even Temper That's Me I Like Flat Tip To The Point High

[00:30:55] Morals Yeah You're Not Wearing Red Then And That That Leads You To The Color The Color Women Choose Sharp Angles On Both Sides Oh Here's What You Want Spiritual Curious Seeks Attention All Right So Guys Men Out There If

[00:31:25] If If You Look If Look at All the Lipsticks I have It's because of price and color It has nothing Oh and texture How it goes on and how long it stays on I just can't believe there's this many different kinds I just This Totally Stuns me Okay Well tell your audience See they have to google that because we can't show them so Yeah you have to google the lipstick shapes Women already know this But now are these shape These are These are the shape when you buy them Yes Coming out of the tube

[00:31:56] So So If you find a favorite brand And And you stick with that And that's always what you buy no matter what price they charge It's your favorite color and all that Then I could see where that might say something But If most women are like me I see a color I think Oh that might look good on me Let me How much is it It's on sale I'm going to try it And then I have a drawer full of crap lipstick back there That can just go in the trash I know a girl She never put her lipstick on from the stick She would put it on her finger Uh huh

[00:32:24] And then do it on her lips Or The other The makeup artists use a little brush And they brush it off the tip Oh okay And they put it on the lips Oh So you're not using the same tube on Because you're a makeup artist Oh yeah You're doing lots of people Hygiene It's about hygiene It's all about hygiene Who's Jean So who's Jean Ah Jean Me I often feel like I'm Jean on Bob's Burger over here Just like saying random funny shit that nobody ever gets According to Chinese face reading Changing your natural features though Yeah Which has become so common now

[00:32:54] Uh huh Means that you're interfering with your destiny Oh no So kind of like the rules about about lipstick So you're upsetting God And you're upsetting God again You're altering that path that you were meant to take Since the belief is That every facial feature Represents a part of your personality That all collectively functions together To represent who you are as an overall being Ah So if you alter a physical element It's going to disrupt your synchronicity It's going to disrupt your balance You're out of balance Well there you go

[00:33:23] So what it says about people who choose to inject their lips They become more needy and selfish Um Emotional instability often causes uh Problems in their romantic award We're not saying this This is the Japanese saying this Okay I'm just telling you what I've researched here From Chinese face Oh Chinese I'm sorry Yeah it's not Japanese So What's the difference Oh my You are going to get letters Um So the degree of plumpness also

[00:33:50] Is said to equal the degree of pleasure seeking desires Right like it's kind of like getting bigger boobs I guess I Like if you get an unnatural size Well first of all let's not For your frame Okay Let's not criticize bigger boobs I just I'm You know lipstick Lips That's one You leave The large breasted women alone I'm just saying I I am a large breasted woman And thank goodness for it For the size of my frame They fit Right

[00:34:20] Because I'm not messing with nature Yeah Okay Because you don't want to be You know I don't want to spend my money on that It's not important to me So I'm not spending money on it Right That's really what it comes down to Well All of these things cost money You wouldn't have spent money on it anyway Ever Even if you had the money Even if I had played with the idea Ultimately It's like oh five grand I can go to Europe I can go to Disney It's like now you read about people who Got implants to get really big boobs And now they take them out Which

[00:34:49] For health reasons often Which is you know Stop it Well you know If it's a health reason It's certainly understandable Well All right So let's finish that up Because So they even say Okay So you're going to have a lot of dramatic Drama in your life And in your relationships Because you're always I would say this is that You're always seeking Some kind of perfection So how you choose to Enhance your lips Also makes a difference A larger filled upper lip Is accentuating your drama seeking factor

[00:35:17] Whereas a plumper lower lip Is showing the more sensual side You want that You want that Because you know lips are The signal to the world Oh yeah And then if you You know If you accentuate them even more I like that throughout history Well you know what Dr. John said Accentuate the positive That's what he said Okay I'm just saying Even rich men Tinting up their lips To show that they were rich

[00:35:47] And wearing high heels Well the French I love that We're going to make laws But it's to protect The beauty mark The beauty mark was a French invention For men Yes for men For King Louis in particular So But he had a well turned ankle He did He did I have read that before And he liked high heels He liked frilly clothes Yes Well because you're wearing high heels Because you don't have to walk through the muck That's true Nobody wants to walk through the muck That's showing you That's the elite class Historically Land ownership

[00:36:16] Exclusive education Social customs and etiquettes That the poor can't Political influence The next time You're putting on lipstick Think about how much Ladies and gentlemen Think about how much How much you're saying Yeah How much you're saying To the world With your choices And for guys out there Right now going I don't wear lipstick Look you're using chapstick You're wearing lipstick It just doesn't have any color Oh well you get over that Do you know Chapstick can be addictive Well yeah But you really shouldn't eat it

[00:36:46] I don't mean for I mean I don't mean for eating I mean it's actually addictive Some chapsticks Have some chemical I've read that I saw that somewhere What heroin You'll have to google it I don't know I want some cocaine chapstick You know When I look at all the ways Cocaine Go ahead When I look at all the ways That the elite have used To control the classes In the past The only one that's really gone now Is the sumptuary laws Yeah But dressing a certain way Yeah

[00:37:14] Because all of this other stuff Political influence Well no But people know Residential segregation If you're wearing a You know I guess because of social media Yeah but I can get that At Goodwill If you're lucky Well if you're lucky But if you stalk the right Goodwills and the right Salvation Army And today Absolutely Today people can't Just accost you And demand What you do for a living Or how much money you have Where they could in the past People brag about it Yeah they do Well that's the point Sumptuary laws are gone And the classes now They've resorted to

[00:37:44] A very simple method To keep the poors in line The law Well that's it No that's always been a part of it The legal system That was my point Cultural gatekeeping Right Or financial laws Residential segregation Just land ownership In fact the elites What they do is They break all of the laws That we have to obey That's how that works All right Elon Musk Go back to South Africa man There is my history I enjoyed that That was quite interesting The lipstick thing Is quite amazing And the

[00:38:13] Extents people go To look a certain way Which is Interesting Because of the Next story Oh that's right The vibe The vibe I did not know That the term Vibe Had become something Especially with TikTok And it's a person's Way of being I guess In TikTok We would have called it Their brand Maybe a few years ago This is people Who are Influencers Yes And

[00:38:42] It turns out That we've got Something really fun Going on We've got a Content creator Who is now Suing somebody For stealing her vibe Now one of the things She's got For instance They have a picture Of the woman Who brought the lawsuit Oh look Filler Her lips are done She has the look She clearly has Botox in her forehead Because her face Looks bored She just looks Bored Oh like she can't Yeah And her vibe Consists of

[00:39:12] Let's see White curtains behind her A beige jacket And a white t-shirt Oh it's the The room itself The aesthetics Of all the rooms Well I'm just looking At this one picture Isn't that what An influencer Content creator Is doing though They're trying To sell That look They're trying To sell The style I suppose It's their brand There you go Who owns a vibe That question Is at the heart Of a lawsuit Where one Online influencer Is suing another For copyright Infringement 24 year old Sydney Gifford Claims that Alyssa Sheel

[00:39:42] A 21 year old Fellow influencer Knowingly replicated Her aesthetic And her posts On social media Amla Nawaz Spoke to Sandra E. Garcia Of the New York Times Who has been Covering this story Extensively So the idea That you can Sue someone Over an aesthetic How does that work Like what is the case That's being made In federal court Right now Well Sydney Gifford Noticed that Alyssa's posts Started looking A lot like hers A year after

[00:40:11] Their initial hangout Whether that is The aesthetic The vibe The minimalistic Style The clean style Even at some point Some poses And some outfits She details In her lawsuit That she filed The lawsuit Basically says That she got Her vibe Her whole look From Sydney Gifford And Sydney is saying That she has Infringed on her Profit Right Because they use Their social media Accounts to promote

[00:40:40] Their Amazon marketplace Where they can Influence people To buy things Off of Amazon And Amazon Pays them a commission To do so And because of that Sydney has brought This lawsuit In federal court Against Alyssa Okay so Sydney Gifford First of its kind Lawsuit No one's ever done This before Well I was going To say first How did she Actually copyright Her look No no no She hasn't The feel of her look She hasn't No no There's none of that You can't do that

[00:41:09] You can't do that That's what this is This is an attempt To create it And this is my Favorite thing though They met Well they met On a hangout Which is an Internet thing Where she sees her Right So like in a chat room So she started Seeing Visual Yeah yeah Okay anyway So I love it It says TikToker Instagrammer And YouTuber Sydney Nicole Gifford She's the one That brought the suit Against Alyssa Shield

[00:41:40] Accusing her Of copying Gifford's Neutral beige And cream I know But neutral beige And cream Aesthetic That's her aesthetic Neutral beige And cream Could you get More boring And not only that But do you know How many people Out there Have a neutral Beige and cream Aesthetic So again There's no Copyright here No There's not The purpose Of their being Is to influence It's in the title

[00:42:10] They create things And set up pictures And images And poses Which are not new There are no new poses No No There's nothing new None of that is new Nothing How you put it together In a room May look a little different But overall None of that is new And a vibe Is a feeling Yes So that's the feeling That the viewer Takes from what they see You can't copyright That shit Speaking of which Influences in California And a lot of places This fire must have been Devastating for them Because they can't go out No

[00:42:40] They had to shut down Production of all kinds Of shows being filmed That's pretty wild All the influencers And content creators They're going to be Coming in crashing In their friends houses With their little lights But what you were saying Is correct How do you Copyright Something like this You know It's one of these Situations Well And in your reporting You quote a professor Of intellectual property law Who explains that In this whole Online space There's an idea That you are both A creator And a borrower

[00:43:09] So how hard is it To lay claim To an aesthetic Something intangible Like a vibe It is such a layered issue The algorithm You know Feeds you similar posts Similar creators Similar influencers If I see A rug And I take a picture On that rug And it just so happens That another influencer Took a picture on the rug A similar way We could have both Reached that Last photograph By following A lot of different

[00:43:38] Influencers Celebrities And so It's hard to say That an aesthetic Was reached Because of one Other influencer Especially when It's such a popular Aesthetic The minimalistic Beige Concrete Neat Clean girl Look It's very popular Right now And the algorithm Is feeding followers And influencers Feeding them The same kind of posts And so It's hard to say That this one Influencer

[00:44:07] Copied the other As opposed to The algorithm Fed her A million other posts That got her To that End point And by the way Sydney Sydney Nicole here Her beautiful Beige aesthetic She did try to Copyright A phrase And she failed Really? What was her phrase? Color coordination Is my love language Okay It didn't It didn't pass It didn't fly Thank God Thank God There's some sense She also Part of her lawsuit

[00:44:36] She says Copyright infringement Of which there is no copyright To infringe And trade dress infringement That one is really worried So I was like What's a trade dress? Trade dress refers to the bespoke look and feel of a consumer product For example The shape of a soda bottle Differentiating it from competitors So for instance Or a lipstick tip Yeah So Sometimes you'll go and you'll see a bottle of something And you say Oh look

[00:45:06] It's a bottle of whatever But it's not And you read the label It's like Oh it's a different brand Yes But it looks the same Because the shape tricks you Because there are a lot of different bottle shapes now Imagine if Taylor Swift got upset That all these people All these women are copying her vibe Yeah Gifford's lawyer Is basically saying this But think about it If she wins this This trade Oh please Trade dress law And this is happening in Texas by It's a Texas federal judge Oh

[00:45:35] But we have so many influencers And what is their job That's my point Yeah To influence people To get people to buy the same shit that they've got That they're wearing That they're pushing They're hawking stuff Apparently another star of Sydney's YouTube show Is her closet By the way Oh Yeah She's got a lot Does she have a closet to be envied? Apparently yes Clearly because somebody's borrowing it

[00:46:04] Sheil has filed a motion to dismiss all of the claims I hope so This is stupid Saying this is just dumb It is dumb Well I have a conclusion here Alright please And as you've noted in your reporting There is an entire economy Built around this kind of content creation So when it comes to this legal case What's at stake here? What's the potential impact of how this case goes? It is an unprecedented case And it can really change the content creator world And the economy

[00:46:32] Because influencers can now be beholden to copyright law And they would have to be careful how they arrange things If one person owns an aesthetic Then another person can say they own another aesthetic And suddenly we're not building on these different vibes And social media looks We are sort of stifling the content creator world If this case moves forward

[00:47:00] And it's ruled in favor of Ms. Gifford Yeah it's So The lawyer here The defendant has completely ripped off my client He added Some of these photos are literally photos of the same products that my client uses Yeah And the companies rely on the fact that people are using the same products Right So a photo Of a photo Of a product Of her using the product Yeah Okay

[00:47:30] Oh please God no This can't go in her favor Because that just It ruins everything I don't really think One of the things that she was suing for too Is how this woman puts her hands on her table Oh my God Like she folds her fingers a certain way Think of the slippery slope that this would create in all industries This is my point Like Taylor Swift literally sells her style Her vibe Yeah That's what All the girls dress up like Taylor Swift Well I took it to it Like I saw a video earlier of a motorcycle guy running into the back of a truck

[00:47:59] So then if another guy does that Can the first guy sue that guy for stealing his vibe Well if it's the exact same way Yeah And he's riding the same kind of bike What about porn stars Ooh Nice Can they copyright their method of cunnilingus Ooh Big word Hang on Let me look that up I don't know what that means Can they Can they You know Copyright their Their rhythm His His rhythm The other two author went Oh

[00:48:31] Yeah I mean This isn't a song It's a slippery slope And they're trying to compare it Her lawyers are trying to compare it to the Robin Thicke Pharrell Williams thing with Marvin Gaye But with music Blurred lines totally stole the music With music you have notes You have a rhythm You have timing You have things you can measure Yes This is not People's personalities often are similar Very similar And again You want them to do that Because then you're all making money Isn't that the whole

[00:48:59] So she is right about stifling things I mean you're putting a little box up again Okay look If your room is this These colors And you've got this style of bed And this kind of bedding You better not Better not take a film of it That's mine That was mine I did it first Move on You better get Robin's egg blue This is my blue As we know from comedy and jokes Yeah It's not good A thousand people come up with the same joke every day All right Well we'll use this as a measure If that girl wins her suit Well we'll see

[00:49:27] Then there's no hope for anything That's true Because logic is completely gone Well I would say that happened already because of Elon Musk I think it has been Although Steve Bannon To completely just change subjects Well yeah Since we're almost done anyway I saw Musk's dad the other day He's like Just don't listen to me Oh no Steve Bannon Who is relatively crazy himself But he's pretty straightforward He says Musk is an evil guy Oh

[00:49:56] Who needs to be run out He said I will have Elon Musk run out of here by inauguration day Okay Well that hasn't happened It's not here yet But it's closed He is a truly evil guy A very bad guy I made it my personal thing to take this guy down Because Before Because he put money in I was prepared to tolerate it I'm not prepared to tolerate it anymore He's mad because Elon Musk has said some negative things about the American people Being retards and stuff Which is Something he did say Okay

[00:50:27] But then he pointed out Peter Thiel That's YouTube David Sachs Elon Musk Are all white South Africans Oh yeah He should go back to South Africa Why do we have South Africans The most racist people on earth White South Africans We have them making comments now On what goes on in the United States It feels like Our government now Would like to colonize A few places Like we have American colonization Trying to happen all over again

[00:50:56] Back when they were running the first time Musk criticized them constantly Yeah He went out of his way To mock our movement as racist And he lost We blew him out of the water He won't fight He's got the maturity Of a little boy No He's a little Pillsbury dough boy He is Ugh He accused Musk Of wanting to implement Hey this is mine Techno-feudalism On a global scale I said that We're going back To the feudal state If they want to Peter Thiel's part of it too Yeah

[00:51:25] It's back to that Because they control All the media Yes So Bannon is like Oh and also Bannon pointed out Musk has more ties to China Than practically anyone In the United States And he's in our White House He's in our bed He's more than in the White House He's in the bed Yeah So there you go He's owned lock, stock, and barrel By the Chinese communists And he acts like it Yeah He absolutely does Go Bannon Go All right I love it All right Well

[00:51:55] So There you go I don't even know what to say About today's show Well I look I look at Musk As an influencer And I'm doing my very best To become very very pasty Pasty pale And become unable To grow a beard Or a mustache Are you going to have A lot of children And name them strange things Yes I'm looking forward To doing that Several women Maybe you have Actual intercourse But maybe not Chinese are very good At test tubes Yeah exactly I mean he could be Having little musk babies In China like crazy

[00:52:23] They may be breeding A musk army right now We don't know Oh You know It's the hermit kingdom We can't get in there And look at his name Musk Musk He's musky Yeah And he's from South Africa Again One of the most racist Places on earth At least it was Well this is going to be An interesting show I don't know Yeah I don't mean this one I mean literally Yeah the big one That starts on The one that starts On January 20th What the world Oh no this is ongoing Well it started now We're getting commercials

[00:52:53] It's just ramping up Oh yeah We're increasing our speed So at this airing The fires have not Reached Bel Air Fresh Prince Is still okay We have not gotten To Beverly Hills Or Los Angeles proper So when we come back In two weeks But it's close It's very close It's really close It'll be interesting To I am sad for all these people I am too It's horrible It is horrible The whole money And insurance thing Is its own thing Did you see the video Of the guy at the airport

[00:53:23] Who was taking the film And may have actually seen When it started No I didn't see that He's filming airplanes Landing at the airport Right And the hills Off in the distances Of the Pacific Palisades And he's looking up there At one point And there's this little Tiny column of smoke T-tiny Within literally two minutes It's a big column of smoke And it's moving It's moving fast Well yeah When you have hurricane Force winds without rain Yeah Yeah I mean that's just crazy It is crazy And then to have no water

[00:53:52] And no water to take care of it Thanks lady Well again It shouldn't be a political Politicized event But damn Well it goes back To something we've mentioned A couple of times Maintenance Maintenance I know You've got to maintain The forest floor Some things that the Getty Museum people Have to offer homeowners In the future Yeah Clear your brush Clear your brush But I thought it was They couldn't do it I thought it was illegal For them In some places it is But they don't do clear burns Because it violates Air quality rules Yeah well

[00:54:22] In Los Angeles Where's your air quality now Yeah that's sad It is sad It's all sad And it's going to be Crazy insurance companies Are going to be dropping people I mean Okay if they drop everybody How do they stay in business Well they're not going to Stay in business If they pay out Oh no Those rich people Aren't going anywhere They're going to figure Something out Yeah Alright Put your lipstick on Get your high heels And your wig on Put your wig hat on Get your wig hat on And put on your High heeled sneakers Oh my goodness Alright

[00:54:51] Well community There you go Yeah there it is And it's a A little bit of history A little bit of us A little bit of now We stick to our theme Now we've got influencers Sewing each other Over copyright That's the best Of a feeling Of a vibe Of a vibe Of a feeling Alright well I hope Your vibe is to be joyful And I hope you don't Have any problem With anybody sharing Your vibe I don't have a problem With sharing my vibe Go Anybody who wants To share my vibe Is more than welcome To it I don't recommend it But hey No I don't recommend

[00:55:21] His vibe But you can take mine But if you want it You know hey Feel free Straight up reality Feel free It starts I can tell you right now I'm going to I'm fixing to file a lawsuit Against every single man Who shaves their head They've all stolen my vibe Oh they've taken your vibe That's right Yeah I see that Yeah I copyrighted it Yeah because you did it During a time When it was a bold Courageous move Yes that's right You were either A skinhead racist Well only white guys Black guys were already in They had already done it No no but that was why Because you were white And then I

[00:55:50] Think about all the abuse I suffered People accusing me Of being a skinhead I know I know I was there I lived through it with you I know But I was the one who said Baby you can do this And uh And that's when I got your back That was actually Right after I shaved my head That's when I first met Elon Musk And he said Oh you're a racist too And I said No no it's just you man That was back in my Fighting days I had your back baby I had your back Um alright You find your uh You find your balance In the world Maintain what you have

[00:56:20] Maintenance And don't Don't take on more Than you can chew We got our heater fixed Oh And we got a tree Taken out Yeah Which It's been an expensive Six weeks It has but we took Care of it Alright I guess We should let these Thank you Sasquatch Oh yeah Sasquatch uh Building Yeah he built us A porch and a cover Built a nice porch Thank you to uh Uh David Ulich Uh David Ulich Uh tree service For cutting down our tree And not damaging A darn thing And leaving it So clean Oh it was amazing There's not a limb There wasn't a limb

[00:56:49] Or a leaf left on the ground And uh And then thank you To Coles AC Yes Who came out And fixed our heater Um And now we're not Running a propane heater In the house Cause that would be A terrible story Alright Yeah right Community See you in two That's what it was I was afraid we were Going to steal California's vibe And have a fire So there you go Alright Your joy is portable People take it with you It is Take it with you And we'll see you In Two Two weeks Bye Fourteen days That's it

[00:57:19] That's it That's all Okay well I guess we gotta go
